Petite Fashion Challenge #13

Though this is Challenge #13, it is my first time taking part in the PFC's.  This month's PFC is hosted by Really Petite. =)

The challenge is: Stylish for under $100
Put together a professional outfit (excluding shoes and accessories) for under $100. The lower the price of the completed outfit the better. Bonus points if you can put together a completed outfit including shoes and accessories for under $100.

Outfit 1 totals to $50
Outfit 2 totals to $75

I had so much fun with this challenge that I decided to post 2 different outfits! Through this challenge, I have found new & professional ways to wear what's already in my closet and it couldn't be at any better time, as March is the month of internship interviews for me.

What I've learned from this challenge: I don't wear much accessories and I need another pair of work pumps

Lastest Obsession

My latest obsession is with collar pin/bars. Lately I've been wearing more collared shirts for work and have been looking for ways to spruce up my outfits.  These pins would be perfect for just that.

What I wore today

Today was my first day back to school for the Spring semester.  I have been dreading this day because I am not ready to go back to all the homework and assignments I will have to do, not to mention no more sleeping in.  Hopefully I can spend more time this weekend to complete some sewing projects; I won't have the time to do so until summer so gotta get it out of my system. Here is the outfit I wore for class today (terribly quality, yes):

Costa Blanca blouse from Burlington Coat Factory
Grey wool jumper-thrifted
Marc for Marc Jacobs watch-Nordstrom (bday gift last year from the bf)
Aldo suede ankle boots

Thanks for reading!

Elephants & Giraffes

Latest project using pattern Simplicity 2612 from the Project Runway line.  I used the short length and long sleeve.
Changes made to the pattern: Changed the front from a button-down to a pull-on shirt.  Instead of the collar, I made a tie front using same fabric.
Total cost: $2.00 (for fabric from Walmart)

When I finished sewing up this top, I was initially unhappy with it.  I felt the purple color was too light to be flattering on me and the shape was just boxy all over.  However, after playing around, mixing it with other items in my closet, I've found this shirt to be much more appealing and good for layering.

Here I am heading out of the movies wearing my new shirt.

Happy New Year 2012!

This New Year's Eve, I spent the night at home with the boyfriend.  We drank lychee sake martinis and watched "You got served" on Netflix and I fell asleep halfway through.  I woke up refreshed this morning and made jaeyook bokum and jajangmyun for us.

I don't really do resolutions because I am very bad at keeping them but my goals for this year are to continue my schooling, continue learning more techniques in sewing, and to take more photos.

Just purchased the Tawny Port pants from Asos.com for only $20 bucks! Can't wait to get them in the mail and I'm crossing my fingers that they fit well. This is my only gift to myself in about 4 months.  I think I deserve it.

Craving for...

*** a pair of legging boots (preferably in black suede and with a mid-low heel)

And to buy: here are some A-mazing OTK boots. For someone short like me, these boots would be the perfect length and are pretty much like a legging boot.
